Hello Friends and Family
|
The Elizabeth Calsey House, and The Elizabeth Calsey House at Lions Mouth Road hopes you all had a wonderful and healthy summer.
We have been having quite a bit of fun over the past few months at both of our
homes! As some of you know both of our homes had a Carnival over the summer.
Each consisted of a variety of carnival games, fortune tellers, a photo booth, and
who can forget homemade popcorn! We were thrilled to see how many Residents
participated making both Carnivals an extraordinary success!

Buying Local, Buying Fresh
|
Keeping with The Elizabeth Calsey House tradition we purchased most of our
produce from both Cider Hill Farm and Bartlett's Farm through the course of the
summer. Both local businesses supplied us with the most delicious and fresh
produce and we thank them for that. We feel blessed to be able to help
support other local businesses. We even were lucky enough to have our Residents
voluntarily take over our corn husking duties!

Lunch Trips to Bolton's Lake House
|
Lions Mouth Road's Lunch Trips to Bolton's Lake House was an absolute success!
Many Residents opted for some sort of friend seafood and many left with a
doggie bag. We then finished off the day with a trip to Memories Ice Cream;
where all Residents were happy to see that their favorite flavors were available.
Elizabeth St. also had a wonderful lunch trip to The Hungry Traveler. The Hungry
Traveler has been one of ECH's favorites for many years and remains so.
We finished that trip off with a stop at Hodgies! Both homes have upcoming lunch
trips scheduled at The Old Salt in Hampton, NH; and we are certain they will be a
fun and memorable experience.

The New England Patriots Are Back!
|
The NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS are back in action and we couldn't be happier here
at The Elizabeth Calsey House. Thanks to some die-hard fans residing at our
homes we have parties whenever the Patriots play! Good company, snacks, and a
working television have turned game night into something a little more special!

Flu Shot Clinic
|
Our annual Flu shot Clinic will be at both homes Wednesday October 14th. The
clinic is available to both staff and Residents. If you would not like your loved one
to receive a flu shot please notify management at your eariest convenience. We
also please ask that if you are feeling under the weather to please wait to visit our
Homes. We try to keep our Elizabeth Calsey House Family as healthy as possible
during cold and flu season.

Family Night
|
We have been thinking about starting a family night! Each quarter we would host
a night for Families to come in and discuss a variety of topics geared to their
elderly loved one. We feel like this would be a good opportunity for Families to
open up a discussion and ask questions. Please let us know if you have a topic
you would like discussed! :

Meet our Family...
|
Jim Brown is one of the newest staff members here at The Elizabeth Calsey
House, and we couldn't be more thrilled to have him. Jim was born to parents
Jean and Spoff Brown and was raised right here in Amesbury. He is one of four
children; two sisters Cathy, and Sue along with a brother Eric. Jim went on to
graduate from Amesbury High School, and resided in Amesbury until the age of
22.
Jim has been married to his wife Cathy for 24 years. Today they live in Merrimack
where they have resided for the last 21 years. Over the year Jim hasn't been one
to turn down an adventure. He has embarked on many excursions such as
running marathons, scuba diving, skydiving, and white water rafting.
Before working for ECH Jim worked as a high tech software engineer for 36 years.
Jim enjoyed his job and the opportunities it afforded him, but made the decision
to do something more fulfilling. Jim trained and studied to receive his CNA
certification and has been working at ECH since July 2015. Jim says he receives
great satisfaction from helping so many kind people, and is very pleased he has
joined our family!

Holiday Parties
|
Our Holiday Parties are scheduled for December 5th
(Lions Mouth Rd) and December 12th (Elizabeth St.). Family and close friends of
our Residents are welcome to come and join us in Celebrating the Holiday Season.
Each party is scheduled from 11am-2pm. We hope to see you all there and ask
those who attend to Please bring an unwrapped gift to donate. Our donation
goes to local children in need. Both toys along with personal products would be
greatly appreciated, and would help make a Child's Christmas very special! We
will have a drop box at both Homes from the end of November to right before
Christmas for those who cannot attend our Parties.
With the Holiday Season closely approaching please remember to let us know if
you will be taking your loved one out for a Holiday Dinner/Celebration! By
knowing which Residents will be going out our Staff can ensure them to be ready
at the appropriate time, making everyone's holiday a little bit smoother!
